In March, Mr. Carney, Sr. Systems Engineer, tested Gigabyte
Express with RELIA as the transport method for sending hundreds of files from
the United States to India over the private IP network of a large
multinational corporation. We received this information from Mr. Carney on
May 8, 2002:
DATE: # of files Total Size: Transport Start time End Time Total time ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3/13/2002 157 78MB TCP/IP 17:00 12:28 4 hrs 28 min. 3/14/2002 149 74.2MB TCP/IP 17:00 21:20 4 hrs 20 min. 3/15/2002 285 145MB TCP/IP 21:00 05:00 8 hrs
3/15/2002 264 128MB RELIA 17:00 17:26 26 min. 3/18/2002 551 275MB RELIA 17:00 18:23 1 hr. 23 min. 3/19/2002 273 129MB RELIA 17:00 17:36 36 min.
As you can see, RELIA far outperformed TCP/IP in all tests that we performed and in some cases was more than 10 times as fast!!
When using TCP/IP to send 145MB of image
files to India, it took us 8 hours to complete the transmission. When sending the same number of files using RELIA, it
took just 40 minutes. Unbelievable difference! We literally watched the
files fly out of there! I would recommend RELIA as a transport method in any WAN environment. Thanks for such a good product!
