On-the-fly compression uses the STAC(tm) algorithm to compress files on the sending side and decompress on the receiving side.

Unattended Operation allows the users to set up “Hot Folders” which are monitored for files to be sent. The user or an automated process puts files into the hot folder, from there they are automatically sent to the destination associated with each hot folder.

Daily send scheduling allows the user to select the time of day to examine each hot folder.

Multiple simultaneous dials  allows multiple send operations to occur at the same time.

Multiple simultaneous answers allows multiple receive operations and “Get” operations to occur at the same time

Macintosh support is best when the Gigabyte Express for Windows is installed within the Macintosh NTFS partition on an NT or 2000 server. The resource and finder forks peculiar to Macintosh. Transfers between Gigabyte Express for Windows and Gigabyte Express for Macintosh preserve these forks.

Installer optimizes the TCP registry to increase performance and improve reliability of Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Me, and 98 TCP operation and support RFC 1323.  The installer also includes an update to Windows 98 to allow  support of RFC 1323. Windows NT4 registry performance enhancements are also made, but the usefulness is reduced because NT4 does not support RFC 1323.

Support RFC 1323 on Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Me, and 98. The applications were modified to get the most advantage out of Window’s support of  RFC 1323.

File Pipeline allows a large number of files to be in the pipeline without waiting for the handshake on each file. Available only in Gigabyte Express 5.

Target market for Gigabyte Express 3 is Domestic File Transfer, for Gigabyte Express 5 is international and satellite file transfer and file transfer over congested links.
