Features
On-the-fly
compression uses the STAC(tm) algorithm to compress files on the sending side
and decompress on the receiving side. Unattended
Operation allows the users to set up “Hot Folders” which are monitored for
files to be sent. The user or an automated process puts files into the hot
folder, from there they are automatically sent to the destination associated
with each hot folder. Daily
send scheduling allows the user to select the time of day to examine each hot
folder. Multiple
simultaneous dials allows multiple send
operations to occur at the same time. Multiple
simultaneous answers allows multiple receive operations and “Get” operations to
occur at the same time Macintosh
support is best when the Gigabyte Express for Windows is installed within the
Macintosh NTFS partition on an NT or 2000 server. The resource and finder forks
peculiar to Macintosh. Transfers between Gigabyte Express for Windows and
Gigabyte Express for Macintosh preserve these forks. Installer
optimizes the TCP registry to increase performance and improve reliability of
Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Me, and 98 TCP operation and support RFC 1323. The installer also includes an update to
Windows 98 to allow support of RFC 1323.
Windows NT4 registry performance enhancements are also made, but
the usefulness is reduced because NT4 does not support RFC 1323. Support
RFC 1323 on Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Me, and 98. The applications were modified to get the
most advantage out of Window’s support of
RFC 1323. File
Pipeline allows a large number of files to be in the pipeline without waiting
for the handshake on each file. Available only in Gigabyte Express 5. Target market for Gigabyte Express 3 is Domestic File
Transfer, for Gigabyte Express 5 is international and satellite file
transfer and file transfer over congested links.
